Mafika has established a new state-of-the-art facility in South Africa to ensure the quality of its high horsepower engine rebuilds. This facility is quality certified to ISO 9001 and delivers Certified Rebuilt high horsepower engines through best practice manufacturing and planning. The complexity of high horsepower engines arises from the diverse range of markets and applications they serve, as well as the varied diesel and natural gas technologies required. 

Mafika's comprehensive rebuild process, which is a multi-discipline procedure spanning teardown, cleaning, machining, inspection, assembly, and testing, ensures the highest quality rebuilds. The facility is equipped with the latest tooling for manufacturing processes, including electric rollover stands, electric tensioning tools for 100% bolt tension auditing, and CNC block machines for precision blueprinting. Moreover, each assembly station features a computers linked to high horsepower assembly software, ensuring accurate assembly instructions.

Engines that undergo Mafika's certified rebuild process are guaranteed to provide as-new reliability and life-to-overhaul, and they come with a new engine warranty of 12 months and unlimited hours. Mafika's high horsepower range includes engines from 450 hp to 4,500 hp and features engines with displacements of up to 78 liters. These engines, which come in in-line six, V12, V16, and V18 configurations, are used in mining and industriall applications.

The facility also boasts state-of-the-art cleaning equipment and dynamometer test facilities, capable of testing engines up to 4,500 hp. Mafika's dynamometer testing process is quality certified with an SABS mark. Mafika is ISO 9001:2015 certified, holds SABS (sans 10274:2005) engine rebuilding quality certification, and is both OEM Bosch and Garrett certified, alongside a CERTEX approval for explosion-proof engines for underground mining and marine applications. Recognised by the World Engine Remanufacturers Council as the largest independent high horsepower engine rebuilder globally, Mafika ensures top-notch rebuild quality without outsourcing any aspect of the process.

The facility operates under a rigorous forecast and review system to manage engine rebuild scheduling effectively, supported by an in-house developed database detailing all relevant engine and customer data. This database is essential not only for Mafika's planning but also for helping customers with their operational needs.
